Project:

FDPanel - Future Door Panel

Main Objective

Aims to develop a distinctive and differentiating concept for the Automotive Interior Door Panel, integrating strongly innovative solutions.

Overview

The FDPanel (Future Door Panel) project, object of this application, aims to develop a distinctive and differentiating concept for the Automotive Interior Door Panel, integrating strongly innovative solutions in terms of intrinsic architecture (UX / UI design), decoration (IMD or IML), comfort (coatings with thermal management properties), lighting (LEDs integrated in only one end of the panel and materials that transmit uniform light), visual information / alert interfaces for future connectivity (V2X) and sound (MEMS speakers). In addition, the project intends to accommodate new solutions that allow to reduce the weight of the Door Panel between 15 and 20% at the level of the Door Panel Frame, without compromising the current specifications and specially the ECE95 requirement regarding impact resistance in a collision situation, but also decrease the assembly time by reducing the number of panel fixings and increase the flexibility of the assembly process towards the one piece flow model. The new Door Panel to be developed will present an intuitive human-machine interface geared towards the end user, which aims to provide you with new experiences (especially sensory), anticipating and following the automotive industry's market trends, in which digitization and comfort play a critical role in increasing the value proposition.
