What is the purpose of CEiiA’s Collision Ground?
CEiiA is one of the TOP10 investors in R&D in Portugal. A lot of things are being done behind our glass walls. Although we believe that we are what we can share, we feel that we have been too shy these years. Collision Ground will be the place where CEiiA and our community will be exposed to external stimuli and where we can share what we are, what we have been doing and our points of view. We can do it face-to-face or through our digital channels.
Great things happen when different points of view and ideas collide. But let's explore the concept of collision always in an involving and aspirational way. Okay?
The Collision Ground has been designed with human interaction in mind. Bouncing ideas off of other people is instrumental in the creative process, and lassoing those interactions in a productive manner can result in better work, happier coworkers, and a proliferation of ideas. Collision Ground will be the place where people get together to brainstorm and collaborate.
What makes a space a Collision Ground space?
Space as a cultural statement of openness, of risk, of willingness to share and contaminate, of diversity, of “work done” and work “being done”.
Space as a platform of communication, knowledge, positioning.
Space as a tool that generates income and produces outcomes.
Space as participant that jumps in to provoke people, that understands its users, that it’s always intentional.
Space as moderator of different stakeholders, audiences and activities.
How is the Collision Ground’s personality like?

Slowly! Yes, we know we're living in the Tinder-era, but we prefer an old fashioned romance. We aim to create a Collider’s community. People who have curiosity about the world, a cultural statement of openness, of risk, of willingness to share and contaminate. But, mostly, we want to see “work done” and work “being done”. So, if you have a problem in your mind, a challenge, a new amazing idea, a company to make grow or just a different, an unexpected and mind-blowing way to look at an issue, let us know. If we fall in love with each other, you can be a Collider, host an event, run a meet-up, attend a workshop, find a workstation, use CEiiA’s amazing facilities (take a look) or, why not, be a member of the Scale UP, our hardware accelerator.
We have much more to offer than amazing coffee, free Wi-Fi or great energy, but you should demonstrate initiative and effectiveness during our application process (when it opens, you will know).

I want to be a Collider. What can I do about it?
You have to wait for our formal application process. When that happens, it will be hard to miss. We will speak loud and clear through our digital channels. So, be aware when you find a post with this kind of copy: “If you have a business idea that’s the solution for technological problems, mobility and accessibility of the everyday life in the big cities, be brave and sends your application.”
May I attend or host an event?
Sure. The Collision Ground events programme will enrich our mindset and threaten our comfort zone. You just need to contact collisionground@ceiia.com and apply to host an event through a formal application process. Event requests are reviewed within ten business days and the Collision Ground team will reach out to you directly regarding your application. Collision Ground provides space for events that benefit the foster positive innovation ecosystem. Through our Facebook, you can book a place in our public events.
