OVERVIEW

CEIIA began a collaboration with Marenco Swisshelicopter in February 2016, participating in the development of the new helicopter Skye SH09. In this first phase, the work is focused in providing engineering services in structural analysis at Marenco facilities in Switzerland. As a result of the good work done so far is likely this collaboration will be extended by strengthening the team and enlarging the scope to areas such as design and structural testing.

ABOUT MARENCO SWISSHELICOPTER

Marenco Swisshelicopter was founded in 2007 for the direct purpose of developing, building and commercializing new concepts of light turbine helicopters.

With this industrial visionary concept, Marenco Swisshelicopter developed a new generation of helicopter built with a design that concentrates on the key notion of competitive superiority, modularity, advanced ergonomics and with the integration of the best choice of materials.

ABOUT SKYE SH09

Skye SH09 is a helicopter positioned in the 2.5 metric ton class in its final stage of development and certification. Designed to stand out from the competition, it offers exceptional performance and a low noise signature thanks to the newly developed dynamic assembly and a shrouded tail-rotor.

It is suited for a high number of missions, such as passenger transport, emergency medical services, or external load carrying. With a fast cruise speed of 270 km/h (145 knots) it is not only one of the fastest single engine light helicopter in the category, but it also offers very long range – in excess of 800km (430 nautical miles) with standard fuel tanks.

It is a single-engine helicopter, with five blades, engineered using the latest technology in computer design, made of high tech and composite materials, having sliding side doors and a rear door (in clamshell format).
