Member of the Board
Isabel Matalonga is an executive member of the Board of Directors.
Her professional activity is related with the management of European funds and R&D projects, having performed management and advisory functions in public administration bodies and government cabinets.
Isabel was an executive Member of the Board of COMPETE from 2007 to 2015. From 2005 to 2007 she was Advisor of the Minister of Science and Technology. From 2002 to 2005 she was a member of the Board of INETI. From the late 90s to 2002 she managed European Structural Funds and Cohesion Funds for the modernization of the port infrastructures, having collaborated with the “Logística Moderna” magazine where she published several articles. Previously, in the 90s, her professional activity was linked to regional and territorial development, having coordinated the European initiatives STRIDE (research and innovation for regional development) and Konver (rehabilitation of old military infrastructures and areas for civil purposes).
Isabel began her professional activity at the planning office of LNETI, an office responsible for all the planning, budgeting and management activities of LNETI, and also for giving support to the President and to the Board.
Isabel has a degree in Economics (Faculty of Economics, University of Porto - 1975), a MSc. in "Economics and Management of Science and Technology" (ISEG, University of Lisbon -1990/1991) and a postgraduate in "Science, Technology and Innovation Policies" (IST, University of Lisbon – 2003)
