Overview

Connecting Industry with Startups

A program promoted by 4Scale, CEiiA’s accelerator, and ABDI, the Brazilian Agency for Industrial Development, will fund pilot projects between Portuguese industry and Brazilian startups.

CEiiA’s accelerator 4Scale, and ABDI have launched “Conexão Startup Indústria”, a program aimed at connecting Brazilian startups with Portuguese industry and Portuguese startups with Brazilian companies.

Portuguese companies with industrial activity interested in launching technological challenges to be worked on pilot projects by Brazilian startups can apply until January 28. The call for startups wanting to address those challenges will be open from until March 31.  ABDI and CEiiA will then apply a matchmaking methodology, which will allow corporates to choose up to two startups to work with.

Each pilot will receive around 18,000 euros to help the development stage and will be implemented in the second semester of 2019, while being monitored in both countries by CEiiA (Portugal) and ABDI and Grow + (Brazil).

It is the first time that this program grows out of Brazil, reaching Portugal. Launched in 2016, it’s the country's largest program connecting startups with major corporations, to address Industry 4.0 challenges.  3M, CAT, Dow, Embraer or Ericsson are some of the multinationals which participated in the previous edition. Out of the 27 startups that joined the program, 21 are still developing projects in partnership with the corporates.

Read the regulation and register until March 31.
